Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local browser storage. This policy explains how Retrohobby uses them, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

When you first visit, we ask for your choice. Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. Non-essential (analytics) cookies are only set if you select Accept all. If you choose Reject non-essential, only essential cookies are used.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser, which will make the consent banner appear again.

These are required for core functionality and do not need consent:

• rl_cookie_consent — remembers your cookie choice (up to 12 months).
• rl_locale / rl_currency — remember your language and currency.
• rl_actor — a random identifier that lets signed-out visitors keep access to purchases and hobby progress (up to 12 months).
• Session cookies — keep you signed in when you have an account.

With your consent, we use Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used (for example, which pages are popular). This helps us improve Retrohobby. These are only set after you select Accept all, and are not used if you reject them.

Hobby videos are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies unless you play a video. Payments are handled by Stripe, which may set cookies necessary for secure checkout and fraud prevention.

Some pages include external booking links, including Google Calendar links for independent dental or medical providers. If you follow one of these links, information you enter is shared with Google and the relevant provider. External services may use their own cookies and technologies and are governed by their own privacy notices and terms. Retrohobby does not provide medical or dental advice and is not responsible for external links, groups, views or activities.

You can refuse non-essential cookies without losing access to core features. Browser controls can also block or delete cookies, although this may sign you out or reset preferences.
